Gallichan Family-Tree Pictures

 
Joseph Jacob Gallichan (1813-1893) was born in St. Helier's Parish of Jersey, Channel Islands. He came to Blanc Sablon with the de Quitteville Brothers Firm of Jersey. He married Elizabeth Lilly and moved to Lac Sale, near La Tabatierre. He is the Patriarch of all the Gallichon on the Quebec Lower North Shore.

Louise Hackey Gallichan ( 1879-1968 ) was born at Old Post, La Tabatiere, Quebec the daughter of Noah Hackey and Phoebe Mauger of Newfoundland. Louisa married Albert Edward Gallichan of Lac Sale near La Tabatiere, Quebec. They raised their family at Old Post where Louisa was the post mistress and a practicing midwife responsible for birthing most of the babies born in her time.

William "Bill" Gallichan (1897-1996) was born in Old Post, La Tabatiere the son of Joe Gallichan and Emily Nadeau of Tete-a-la-Baleine, Quebec. He, like his father, was a fisherman of cod and seal. He married Gertrude Shattler daughter of Issac Shattler and Alice Curtis. He lived his late years with his daughter, Ivy, in La Tabatiere and died at the D. G. Hodd Pavilion at Harrington Harbour.

Sarah Jane Gallichan (1861-1920) was born at Lac Sale near La Tabatiere, Quebec Lower North Shore the daughter of Joseph Jacob Gallichan and Elizabeth Lilly. She married Robert Bobbitt of Harrington Harbour and about 1919 they moved their large family to Halifax, Nova Scotia. They were long time members of Bethany Church, Halifax and a plaque to her memory on the baptismal font in the chapel reads as follows. "In loving memory of Mrs. Robert Bobbitt, "Her children rise up and call her blessed." Erected March 24 1929".
