Whiteley Family-Tree Pictures


William Henry Whiteley (1834-1903) was born in Boston and settled in Bonne Esperance where he established a significant fishing business. He was known affectionately as "Bossy" by his wife, Louisa Thompson of England. William is credited with inventing the cod-trap.  George Carpenter Whiteley (1874-1961) and wife, Mary "May" Canning (1875-?). George was born in Bonne Esperance and worked in his father’s fishing establishment.
